BIO
Shefali Ranthe is a Copenhagen-based contemporary artist, known for her vibrant and expressive paintings. Born in Bangladesh and raised in Denmark, she is a self-taught artist whose work features bold colors, rich textures, and semi-abstract, spontaneous compositions of human and animal figures.
Her artistic career took off in the Middle East, where she achieved significant success and recognition. She has received several cultural and art awards for her work and one of her projekt is also listed in the Guinness World Records for creating the world’s largest Abaya.
Her art is rooted in the European avant-garde, particularly the CoBrA movement. Her practice explores joy, human connection, and the depths of the psyche. Through symbolic imagery and narrative undertones, she invites viewers to discover their own interpretations and emotions.
Her works have been exhibited internationally and are included in prominent collections, including The National Art Museum of China, Beijing; Dafen Art Museum, Shenzhen; The Haegeumgang Theme Museum, Korea; The National Art Gallery, Dhaka; and Bursa Kent Museum, Turkey. Shefali continues to develop her practice from her studio in Copenhagen, creating works that resonate with audiences worldwide.
Shefali holds a BA in Social Education (Art and Culture) from VIA University College, Aarhus, Denmark and has studied art in Dubai, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, and Ghana
